BREAKING NEWS: TOM HARDY casts as Eddie Brock in Venom movie

Sony finally found the actor and director for the upcoming Spider-man spinoff movie, Venom. Tom Hardy, an Oscar nominated for his performance in " The Revenant" and portrayed Bane in Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises, is in final talks to take the role of Venom. While Ruben Fleischer, best known for directing "Zombieland", is set to direct the film.

It's considered as the top priority of Sony as the movie was to released in October 5, 2018.

Venom was one of Spider-man's villain and made a huge impact in tormenting the life of Peter Parker. Created by writer David Michelinie and artists Todd McFarlane and Mike Zeck in 1988, he was also seen from various animated series and made his first movie appearance in Sam Raimi's Spider-man 3 and played by Topher Grace.

Venom will be the mark of a new movie universe from Sony's Marvel and Spider-man characters. Apparently Venom is not a joint production with Marvel Studios so we can't expect Spider-man: Homecoming's Tom Holland to appear in the said movie. Aside from Venom, other characters will also have their own movie like Silver Sable and Black Cat.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing along with Amy Pascal. While Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner wrote the script for Venom. Plot details have not yet revealed up to this point.

Sony also posted on their Twitter account confirming that Tom Hardy is Venom.
